Healthy eating can be fun

A little thought and preparation can make your lunch box come to life. Lunch is a key meal each day and should provide you with lots of energy. It is important to fill your child's lunch box with nutritious, delicious food.


A very simple approach to healthy eating is to use the food pyramid. Aim to eat more of the foods at the bottom of the food pyramid. Foods are grouped together depending on their nutrient make-up. To be healthy you should aim to eat some foods from each of the four food groups every day. A good rule of thumb is to have one food from each of the four main groups in your lunch box.


We provide a nutritious hot lunch for only €2 a day.





Sample Lunch Menu


Week 1


Monday : Beef Ragu with Rice & Vegetables.

Ingredients - Rice, Irish beef, peas, onion, chopped tomato, tomato puree, garlic, basil and corn flour.


Tuesday : Chicken with Gravy.

Ingredients - Chicken, potato, pepper, gravy, flour, tomato puree and vegetables.


Wednesday : Gammon with Chili & Spaghetti.

Ingredients - Spaghetti, ham, chopped tomato, tomato puree, onion, garlic, chili & carrot.


Thursday : Beef Lasagne with Potato & vegetables.

Ingredients - Potato, pepper, butter, Irish mince beef, onion, pea, tomato, tomato puree, herbs, garlic, cheese sauce, milk, corn flour & lasagne sheets


Friday : Chicken Curry with Rice.

Ingredients - Chicken, rice, turmeric, cumin, cardamon, chili, sweetcorn & flour



Week 2


Monday : Shepherd's Pie & Potato

Ingredients -, Irish beef, peas, onion, garlic, mixed herbs & gravy.


Tuesday : Chicken Curry with Rice.

Ingredients - Chicken, rice, turmeric, cumin, cardamon, chili, sweetcorn & flour


Wednesday : Spaghetti Bolognese.

Ingredients - Minced Irish beef, spaghetti, chopped tomato, tomato puree, onion, pepper, basil, garlic & peas.


Thursday : Pork with Potato & Gravy.

Ingredients - Potato, pepper, butter, Irish pork & gravy.


Friday : Chicken Ragu with Pasta.

Ingredients - Chicken, pasta, chopped tomato, tomato puree, garlic, onion, basil & corn flour.



Week 3


Monday : Beef Lasagne with Potato & vegetables.

Ingredients - Potato, pepper, butter, Irish mince beef, onion, pea, tomato, tomato puree, herbs, garlic, cheese sauce, milk, corn flour & lasagne sheets


Tuesday : Chicken & Ham Pasta Bake.

Ingredients - Diced Chicken, diced ham, onion, garlic, basil, tomatoes, courgette, peppers, black pepper, penne pasta & cheese.


Wednesday : Shepherd's Pie & Potato

Ingredients -, Irish mince beef, carrots, onion, pea, garlic, mixed herbs & gravy.


Thursday : Turkey Curry with Rice.

Ingredients - Turkey, rice, onion, cumin, pepper, turmeric, chili powder, tomato puree & garlic.


Friday : Ham Ragu with Spaghetti

Ingredients - Diced ham, spaghetti, onion, garlic, sliced peppers, tomato, tomato puree, mixed herbs & corn flour.
